The scattered rain will continue today, as the National Weather Service extends the Flash Flood Watch to 3 o’clock Thursday morning.
It affects all of western New York. It says additional heavy rain fall at times combined with wet soil conditions will maintain the risk for flash flooding.
At this time, the Tonawanda Creek is Batavia is only expected to crest at 2 1/2 feet Wednesday night.
UPDATE (1:55 p.m.): The National Weather Service has cancelled this watch for Genesee, Orleans and northern Erie Counties. It remains in effect for Wyoming County.
