New York State is holding on to its spot as the second highest producer of maple syrup in the country in 2014.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo says the sweet success is due in part to the hard work of the state's maple producers.
Though the industry had many challenges this year after the long, cold months of February and March, producers used newer vacuum tubing, which kept the tapholes healthy and functioning.
This year New York produced 546,000 gallons of maple syrup with 2.2 million taps.
