There’s a unique opportunity in western New York this weekend to observe a component of Team USA.

The Under-20 U.S.A women’s Rugby team will be staying and training at the Batavia campus of Genesee Community College for three days before heading to Canada for competition.

The team is first assembling in Buffalo this Sunday. The practices at GCC are open to the public from 9 to 11 Monday and Tuesday and 3 to 5 Monday.

The team features many players from large, Divison I schools, as well as younger prospects who could develop to making it onto the national team.

The team finished as runners-up last year in the Can-Am Series. Here is more information about the team and competition:
