The woman who punched out an elderly Wal-mart cashier on Christmas Eve three years ago, is back in court trying to get her restitution reduced.
Jaquetta Simmons had been ordered to pay 2-thousand dollars to help cover Grace Suozzi’s medical bills from the 2011 attack that put the – then - 70 year old Suozzi in the hospital.
Simmons was ordered to pay the restitution at the rate of 100-dollars per month.
Appearing in court without an attorney, Simmons told Judge Robert Noonan she is out of work and looking for a job.
Noonan rescheduled the matter until Simmons’ lawyer appears with her.
Two leaders of the East Pembroke Fire Department are facing charges of drunk driving following an ATV accident last weekend.
Charged with Driving While intoxicated are 35 year old Steven Smelski of West Main St., Batavia, and 26 year old Charles Chatley of Corfu.
Deputies say the two men were operating the ATV’s that crashed last Sunday on Route 5 in Pembroke.
Smelski is the first assistant chief of East Pembroke and a 9-1-1 dispatcher for Genesee County. Chatley is a second assistant chief with East Pembroke.
Smelski and Chatley, and one passenger on each of the ATV’s were injured.
A fatal motorcycle accident in Livingston County takes the life of a Webster man. 52 year old Steven Curcio died at the scene early yesterday morning on East Lake Road in Livonia.
Deputies say he was travelling southbound when he failed to negotiate a curve and struck a guardrail.
Bills fans will not be able to watch the Bills preseason game against the Detroit Lions in real time on Thursday. It was blacked out on local TV after the game at Ralph Wilson Stadium did not sell out. The game will however, be re-broadcast the following night at 7:00 on local TV.
