A lightning strike is to blame for this morning’s power outage in Batavia.
About 1,200 National Grid customers lost power this morning.
National Grid spokesman Steve Brady said a utility pole on Cedar Street took a lightning strike around 7a.m.
The resulting outage affected homes in the southeast corner of the city and the town of Batavia.
The power was restored about 45 minutes later.
