Four teenagers and three 20-year-olds are facing charges today for allegedly setting off illegal fireworks and smoking marijuana in Batavia. Five of the accused are from outside the area.
18-year-olds Willie Ervin, Jerrod Scott and Armecko Austin, all of Rochester, are charged with Unlawfully Dealing with Fireworks. Genesee County Sheriff’s Deputies say the trio was setting off the rockets at
an undisclosed location along Route 5 GCC's College Village.
Four others were also arrested at the location. 20-year-old Tyrell Clark of Rochester was apparently smoking weed in his van at
the Route 5 location College Village. He was picked up for Unlawful Possession. 19-year-old Anthony Wagner of Syracuse was similarly charged after he was found there with pot and drug paraphernalia.
20-year-old Ashley Mercado of Batavia is charged with Trespass. She was also on the premises and apparently had been banned from
that address College Village in the past.
And 20-year-old Kimberly Ann Doyle, also of Batavia, was picked up for pot possession. Deputies say she was observed dropping Mercado off. When they pulled her over, they found the weed in her car.
