Genesee County will slowly start to come out of the deep freeze we've been in. High temperatures are expected to rise from the low 20s today to the low 30s by Thursday. While that's not quite spring temperatures, it will feel better than the low of minus-three degrees we had on Saturday. The normal high for this time of year is about 30-degrees.
Authorities in Medina continue investigating a fire that destroyed a home over the weekend. Fire officials say the blaze on Starr Street broke out at about 7:30 a.m. Saturday morning. Investigators say propane tanks, which were used to heat the home, fueled the three-alarm fire. No one was injured, but the house was destroyed and four neighboring homes were damaged. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
A note for motorists in Albion this morning:
The Presbyterian Road Bridge over the Erie Canal in the town of Albion will close to traffic at 9AM this morning.
Structural steel repairs will be made to the bridge.
It is expected to re-open by April 1st.
A felony pornography charge has been placed against a Livingston County man. 46-year-old Joseph Landers of Dansville was arrested for allegedly being in possession of child porn. He is in the Livingston County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bail
