A Batavia man will receive his sentence in Genesee County Court tomorrow for his role in a wild police chase that spanned two counties.
27-year-old Randy Rumble of State Street pled guilty to felony charges for DWI and Unlicensed Operation, as well as a slew of traffic violations. In early August, Rumble was apparently speeding away from cops in Avon over in Livingston County, when he crossed the county line into Genesee. Avon Police notified County Sheriff’s Deputies, and the chase was picked up a short time later in LeRoy.
Rumble was later apprehended when he ran out of gas in Stafford.
Rumble faces one to three years in state prison for his crimes. He’s also facing charges in Livingston County.
The Elba man who was scheduled to hear his fate today for Assault and Weapons charges has had his sentencing delayed.
Gerardo Pineda-Sanchez is guilty of a confrontation in Elba this past summer in which he slashed the face and hand of a fellow farmworker.
Today in court, Pineda-Sanchez apparently could not understand some paperwork because it was written in English, and he can only read Spanish.
Sentencing was delayed until November 5th so that Pineda-Sanchez has time to understand the forms, or Spanish-language copies may be made available.
