Genesee County Habitat for Humanity volunteer Ron Burroughs has been named the recipient of 27th Annual Health and Humanitarian Award.
The award is presented by the Jerome Foundation and the United Memorial Medical Center Foundation and recognizes men and women of Genesee County who have helped promote emotional, physical and spiritual well being of local residents.
Ron Burroughs has long been active in Habitat, rehabilitating homes for families who otherwise would have a very hard time buying a home on their own.
Michael Seyfried is a former Habitat board member and one of two who nominated Burroughs for this year’s award:
"Ron is just a unique individual. He's extremely ambitious, a hard worker. He is very generous with his time and his personal equipment. If you go on any build site for Habitat, Ron is oranizing everything, he does it all."
Ron is a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Batavia, and is directing the new addition efforts there as well.
The award will be presented to Ron Burroughs at a luncheon in his honor Friday, December 3rd.
