UPDATE (7:11PM): According to the New York State Thruway Authority website, the eastbound on-ramp to the I-90 at Pembroke has re-opened. The website lists no closure or accident for the interchange at Pembroke.
This evening's Lake Effect Snow Warning has been cancelled by the National Weather Service. It has been replaced by the Lake Effect Snow Advisory, which remains active through Tuesday.
At this hour (5:06pm), a Thruway entrance at Pembroke is shut down due to a serious traffic accident.
A tractor-trailer has jackknifed near the Eastbound on-ramp, and apparently tipped over on top of a car. No injuries have been reported from the scene, apparently the driver of the car is okay. But the on-ramp is shut down pending clean-up operations on the scene.
This coming as snow continues to fall all across Genesee County, and driving conditions remain hazardous. A Lake Effect Snow Warning has been
issued cancelled by the National Weather Service this evening for all of Genesee County. That warning remains in effect until midnight tonight. A Lake Effect Snow Advisory has replaced the warning, and remains in effect through Tuesday.
Roads will remain treacherous throughout the evening, with blowing and drifting snow.
