A reprieve for Genesee Justice.

The County Legislature has agreed to a plan, put together by the director of Genesee Justice, to allow the agency to continue one more year – even though the plan involves the director taking a voluntary layoff.
The plan has no impact on the tax rate.
Genesee Justice Director Ed Minardo hopes that by keeping the agency intact, a foundation can be formed to raise enough private funding for him to get his job back.
The full legislature is scheduled to act on the final county budget tomorrow night. The budget keeps the county’s tax rate at $9.82 per $1,000 assessed valuation.
