The Lake Effect Snow Warning posted for Genesee County was cancelled an hour early this morning, but the snow is not over.
One to two inches of new snow is expected during the day today, with another one to three inches possible tonight.

An Orleans County man, found dead in his burned out home, died from a heart attack and not as a result of the fire.
91-year-old Frank Housel of Lyndonville was found dead Sunday night after a fire had extensively damaged his home on South Main St. His dog also perished in the fire.
The Orleans County Sheriff’s Office said an autopsy showed Mr. Housel died from a heart attack. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

A Geneseo man who had stopped at an accident to see if he could help, is in guarded condition after being struck by a car.
Kenneth Parfitt came upon a two-car accident yesterday morning on the 390 in Avon. As Parfitt was getting out of his car another vehicle, that had gone out of control on the icy conditions, hit him.
Parfitt is in guarded condition this morning at Strong Memorial.

Governor-elect Andrew Cuomo will head into office with a majority of New Yorkers thinking highly of him.  A Siena College Research Institute Poll released yesterday found that Cuomo had an approval rating of 66-percent.  The new poll also stated that despite a dislike of new taxes, most residents would rather see higher taxes for the rich in order to avoid cuts to Medicaid and education.

43-year-old Virginia Jozwiak of Propect Street, Attica:
She has charged with taking an undetermined amount of cash from a charity donation jar while working as a cashier at the Dollar General Store in Attica.
19-year-old James Kwiatek of Alleghany Road, Darien: he’s been charged with criminal mischief and menacing. Deputies say Kwiatek got out of his car on Erie Street in Darien last night, knife in hand, and approached another occupied car and slashed a tire.
19-year-old Kyle Zeh of Attica:
He has been arrested for burglary and Petit Larceny.
Attica police say Zeh broke into an office on Sokol drive and took a $100 in cash. Zeh is in the Wyoming County jail this morning.
