A tanker truck responding to yesterday’s house fire in Darien was struck as it pulled up to a nearby fire hydrant.

Genesee County Sheriff’s Deputies report that 33-year-old Wallace Urf of Pavilion was barreling down Harlow Road when an Attica tanker just began moving into the intersection with Route 20. Urf blew through the stop sign and rammed the rear end of the tanker.
No one was injured.

Urf was allegedly found with marijuana in the car. He was charged with Unlawful Possession. He’s also been charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation and Running a Stop Sign.

Wallace Urf is due in Darien Town Court on February 1st.
