It has long been speculated that the only winners in the decade long legal battle over the City Centre Mall have been the lawyers.
Now, it has been learned that lawyers on both sides have charged up nearly $380,000 in fees over the 10 years the mall merchants have been fighting city hall.
The numbers have been obtained by WBTA News partner The Batavian.
The city has spent $168,070 in legal fees while the merchants have spent $212,056
The city has proposed a settlement to the dispute that was approved by city council last month.
The mall merchants association has yet to act on it.
