Prosecutors said the case against 47 year old Shawn Vickers of Batavia was one of the worst cases of child molestation they had ever seen.
Three years ago, Vickers was convicted on five felony charges of child sex abuse. But now, a state appeals court has thrown out four of those convictions.
The court ruled that Vickers was not tried on the charges for which he was indicted, even though he had agreed to the changes.
Vickers was originally sentenced to 100 years in state prison. But even with the most serious convictions in Genesee County tossed out, he remains behind bars for molesting children in Niagara County.
