An 11 year old boy and his 9 year old brother died when they were ejected from a car that rolled over on the Thruway near Rochester.
State Police have not released the names of the boys who are believed to be from Buffalo.
The accident happened early yesterday morning in the westbound lane of the Thruway near the Palmyra exit.
The boy’s mother was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.
The male driver of the car is in critical condition.
The boys were not wearing seat belts.

A Batavia Burglar is sentenced to serve 2 to 6 years in state prison.
44 year old Andrew Kosiorek admitted he broke into the Rancho Viejo restaurant last January.
Kosiorek has a long criminal record and a long history of drug abuse.

 

Nicole SullivanA Wyoming County woman is now facing charges for allegedly lying about a car crash last summer in Stafford and leaving behind a serious injured passenger.
Deputies say 31 year old Nicole Sullivan from the Village of Wyoming slammed into a tree last June on Fargo Road.
Lawmen say that Sullivan initially told them someone else was driving who had left the scene, but later she admitted to driving the car.

A Brockport woman is charged with lying about a pedestrian accident on Route 33 in Stafford.
Lawmen say 23 year old Katelyn Brown of Brockport told them a silver SUV had struck the pedestrian on Route 33 and left the scene.
Police said later that there was no evidence of a silver SUV traveling in front of Brown.

Nearly 500 traffic tickets were issued in just a few days in Western New this month.  
This is National Distracted Driving Awareness Month and State Police cracked down on violations between April 6th and April 10th. 
There were 144 distracted driving tickets written that weekend and 17 DWI arrests, and 470 speeding tickets.

The Buffalo Jazz Festival is expanding this year. 
Organizers say performances will be held in Larkinville, Main Street and the Albright Knox Art Gallery, as well as the festival's traditional home on Broadway. 
The new venues will help celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Colored Musicians Club. 
More than 150 performers will entertain visitors on seven stages from July 24th through the 29th.
