A barking dog alerted two children to a fire that consumed their home over the weekend at 6137 Merritt Road in Byron.
Byron Fire Chief John Durand directed the fire fighting effort and describes his observations upon arriving onthe scene:
William Causyn owned the house.
The home was declared a total loss. The cause remains under investigation.
