The Genesee County Chamber of Commerce has announced their annual Award recipients.
“Business of the Year" honors went to Sterling Tents and Awnings.
The company is now in their 100th year.
President Ron Weiler says their success and longevity comes down to things
"Satisfying the customer is number one," Weiler said, "but the only way you can do that is with dedicated and hard working and conscientious employees, and that's what we have been blessed with."
Mr. Weiler has been with Sterling Tents for 50 years.
The Chamber has also named Triple P Farms as Agricultural Business of the Year.
Geneseean of the Year is Joseph Teresi from Tompkins Insurance.
"When they (the Chamber) told me I was in shock and awe.I feel honored to be included with the group of people who have named Geneseean of the Year in the past," Teresi said.
Rounding out of the list of this year’s honorees:
GCC President Dr. Stuart Steiner, Lifetime Achievement Award. Dr. Steiner has announced his retirement from GCC effective later this year.
The Wolcott “Jay” Humphrey Award for community leadership goes to Robert Bennett of LeRoy. Bennett is employed by the Bank of Castile.
The awards will be presented at the Chamber’s annual dinner on April 9th.
