The Genesee County Economic Development Center (GCEDC) approved incentives for Freightliner Western Star Batavia LLC and Coach Tony’s at its July 11, 2017 board meeting.

The incentives for West Seneca, NY-based Freightliner Western Star are part of a $7.1 million expansion for a new 40,000 square foot warehouse and service center.  The expansion will create 24 new jobs and the center will be located adjacent to the New York State Thruway on State Street in the town of Batavia and next door to the Genesee Valley Educational Partnership (GVEP). 

The GVEP serves twenty-two school districts within Genesee, Wyoming, Livingston and Steuben Counties, providing both instructional services and instructional support services and its graduates are seen as an "ideal" workforce for Freightliner’s new facility.

Freightliner Western Star Batavia LLC is receiving approximately $662,000 in sales, mortgage and property tax exemptions. It is estimated that for every one dollar of public benefit, that the company is investing $22.50 into the local economy.

Coach Tony’s is expanding its operations in the town of Bergen by constructing a 5,000-sq. ft. building on 3 acres at Apple Tree Acres.  The project will create 3 new jobs. Coach Tony’s is receiving approximately $50,000 in sales, mortgage and property tax exemptions.  Coach Tony's Gourmet Beef Hot Sauce can be purchased in all of the Rochester area Wegmans and at Calabresella Importers on Buffalo Road in Batavia.  It is estimated that for every one dollar of public benefit by Coach Tony’s, that the company is investing $79 into the local economy.
