Darrell Klein, like many others in law enforcement, had initially intended to pursue a position as part of the Sheriff’s Road Patrol, however he soon realized that the jail was where he could do the most good.

Klein said, “People misunderstand what inmates are all about.  They think they're bad people, they're not.  A lot of good people are here that made bad choices and it's nice to be able to help them when I can”

Today was Klein’s last day on the job at the Genesee County Jail after 24 and half years and he was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation by Sheriff William Sheron along with Undersheriff Gregory Walker and Jail Superintendent William Zipfel.
