J W Hardy IIIAn arrest made in an East main Street stabbing.
30 year old J W Hardy the Third of Liberty Street, Batavia, is charged with Assault and Gang Assault – both in the first degree.
Police say Hardy knifed a man early yesterday morning in the 300 block of East Main and left him lying in the street bleeding profusely from his upper arm.
The unidentified man remains in serious condition at Strong Memorial.
Police say Hardy is jailed without bail.
He is scheduled to appear in Batavia City Court tomorrow.
Police are asking anyone with information about the case to call the confidential tip line at 345-6370.

Two Orleans County Sheriff’s Deputies are now under indictment for allegedly double dipping on the job.
Deputies Dean Covis and Thomas Marano are each facing a 241 count indictment accusing them of working a private security job while on the clock for the Orleans County Sheriff’s Office.
Genesee County District Attorney Lawrence Freidman is serving as a Special Prosecutor in the case.
Covis and Marano remain free under supervision.

Former Buffalo Bills star O.J. Simpson may be free soon. 
Simpson has been in prison since 2008 for an incident in Las Vegas where he and others tried to steal back Simpson’s suspected stolen memorabilia. Legal experts in Vegas say the odds are good Simpson will be paroled tomorrow by the Nevada parole board. 

A man is behind bars for allegedly hitting a Brockport police officer with his car.  Brandon Antram was arraigned after police say he hit an officer trying to get away from a traffic stop on Sunday. 
He's now facing a couple dozen charges including DWI, assault and resisting arrest. 

Noonan Drive will be closed today for paving.
Noonan Drive will be closed between Oak Street and Gateway Drive.
All residents within the work area are asked not to park on the roadway during the day.
